Becoming A Mini Advertiser! – Less Stress, Less Money, Longer Campaigns
This concept isn’t for everyone, but if your more interested in long-term income, and CPA offers have you bummed out then making your own small niche may just tickle your fancy!
This post is about creating your own niche or entering a niche with no advertisers/products (or very little), creating your own product (digital or physical), so you don’t have to worry about all the downsides of CPA such a pulled offers, payout changes, competition and traffic sources hating on you etc. Don’t get me wrong CPA marketing is my bread and butter, but mixing it up never hurts anyone.
The goal is to create a product in a niche with no competition. It’s a bit different then becoming an advertiser in a competitive niche such as weight loss (this has a lot more steps/complications to launch).
The idea:
- To get very creative and create a product where no man has created one before
- It should be in a niche/area with very low or no competition at all
- You can sell via SEO, PPC, anyway you like, just have a marketing plan!
- You want to capitalize on something specific that no one else is capitalizing on (this is the main goal!)
Just to clear the air to make sure your thinking the right way, here are some examples of what you should and shouldn’t do:
(YES) Creating a ebook on spending $50/week on groceries for families
(NO) Creating a weightless ebook
(YES) Buying blank hats in bulk, hiring a designer, and writing “i love rihanna” on them. Targeting people going to rhianna concerts.
(NO) Creating a snoring solution pill
(YES) Buying bulk vampire contact lenses, make an awesome sales page, and target twilight and true blood fans
…The last one is my best example! and is definitely something that can be done.
A proven example is the story of a guy who created an ebook on ‘how to jump higher’ and is now making atleast $75,000 a month. This is more of a longterm example, but he pretty much created a product in a niche that didn’t have many products, and now he owns that niche. You can read more here: http://stackthatmoney.com/2010/11/09/how-1-ebook-makes-75000-a-month/
Another example (in a much smaller niche) is an ebook on how to meet japanese girls when going to japan (made for foreigners to Japan). This is a PRIME example because it caters to a very small specific niche, and has a lot of opportunity for unique advertising options with NO competition at all.
Becoming a advertiser in a small nice gives you a lot of power. The main benefit is long term campaign with unique advertising opportunities.
More benefits
- Way less competition!
- Longer lasting profits
- Not worrying about campaigns dying
- Not worrying about scrubbing/pulled offers
- Not worry about traffic source disapproval/bans
- Unique advertising packages you can find on smaller sites related to your niche
The main cons
- Refunds
- Merchant issues
- Support
The money is usually smaller when running a campaign like this, but i enjoy the longer lasting campaigns, which you can build up for months, tweak several times and still have it running after. It’s also profitable month after month and lot less stressful. This whole operation takes time and you need a solid marketing plan, but if you have a unique idea in a non competitive niche, you could put your affiliate marketing skills to use and see some longterm profits with tons of room for expansion! I wrote a complete guide on this in the forums which explains exactly how I’ve done this twice, and I’m the #1 seller in my current niche and it looks like it may last for years to come. It’s not the same money I’ve seen from big campaigns, but the longevity of it is a very nice change from my usual work!

I hit success doing something like this a few years back! Still making organic sales to date!
Good stuff! It puzzles me why you’re still going to school.
Because he’s not really making all the money that he is claiming. He is doing the “fake it til you make it”… obviously he still hasn’t made it.
Plus he’s gotta keep on pedaling those ClickBank affiliate products! hahaha
Oh yeah? Didn’t know you were my accountant
good post!
and CSB Dino!
CSB Dino = Comment Spam Bot Dino?
Nope not at all… You jelly?
Nice post – easy way for people to make money.
Yes i agree with what you said its called product creation and this is what all the gurus are all about. You can create short reports or big ebook and make a good amount of money.
Thanks
once you launch you’re first offer, you’ll never want to go back to pushing other people’s offers – unless there’s a huge upside. Plus mastering the traffic game is half the battle. Huge upsides when you consolidate the value chain and stop running through ad networks, affiliate networks, and affiliate as an advertiser. Running media direct = max profits!
I’m sharing this http://productcreationblog.com/391/why-information-products-are-awesome/ reason’s why product creation is awesome.
Nice ideas, I’ll thinking about adding it to my money website. Getting traffic is the most important thing I’m focusing on right now.
