   I don’t get it how the first one can have a highe conversion rate: it’s not rational, but then that’s what testing is for.

   Could be a good thesis topic for some MS student.

   It was really 1.8x the rest of the CR, but this is with approx $1000 testing so it wasn’t random. Could have been the demo i was advertising too, or my body copy, who knows. End point is if your not tracking, you won’t know.

   Maybe it’s not that weird, it’s just a good illustration of the “girl next door theory”.

   A lot of guys have come to think that the blonde super-hot girls are existing only in magazines and movies.

   Even though your two other ads are showing hotter girls, you might want to click because they are hot, but after the 1st impression has gone, the guys are thinking that it’s too good to be true.

   On the other hand, the first ad represents a girl which looks normal and making a weird face. The kind of girl everyone can meet on the street in their neighborhood. Thus, she is more reachable, more “real”.

   Actually, I don’t find it weird at all that you get a better conversion rate with this picture…

    Great point about tracking and really watching your performance. You can be in this business a long time and still be completely surprised by what drives response sometimes. If you aren’t tracking properly, you are really shooting yourself in the foot.

    Cool, your moving to the gold coast. I live about 50 minutes out, Brisbane. Let me know if you need any tips/advice on how to get established down there, did the same my self stayed in Surfers Paradise for 1,5 years (originally from Norway). So I kiinda know which clubs are hot and not!

    Well all my ads were rejected by facebook today,as I put all cpc bids below the advised limits. I think your Comic was true about facebook ad approver, may be he had a quarrel with his wife.:-)
